Our house is beautiful and we love it, however, there were a lot of issues with the small details of our home - very poor quality of work. The toilet paper holders would not hold a roll of toilet paper, the slider door had gouges and scrape marks, the garage door was extremely sounded like it was going to fall off the hinges. The list goes on and on. This is a brand new home and to have so many issues upon move in was quite disappointing. When we moved in we had multiple electrical problems that were not found until wenhad an electrician install fans and GFI's in the garage for us. Make sure to get a reputable home inspector before buying. Be willing to walk a way if the price you’re willing to pay is denied. Also it’s a good idea to buy a book that tells you what to look for and what to be aware of before buying a home.

My home was delivered to me with substantial wear and tear, and KB insists that things are normal and will not fix all problems before closing. Some issues are just impossible to fix after you've moved in. They also seemed to have used low quality materials--I have windows that do not block sound at all, and a super loud ventilation fan system. Design center experience was very good, but the building process was the opposite. We had 4 different project managers due to them moving to different communities, and at one time our house didn't have anyone work on it for 6 weeks. At a few different times, the PM actually lied to us (which was confirmed). Our home was not clean when we moved in, and there were multiple things that needed repair. There was construction debris thrown on top of our kitchen cabinets, trash in the yard, saw dust coating the backs of all our doors and trim, drywall dust stuck to all the window frames, paint on the floors and the carpet, gobs of caulking dripping out of the window panes and the list goes on and on. We had our house mold tested before drywall was installed, and sure enough, there was mold in half a dozen places on the framing. KB was great about having a reputable company remediate all the mold. KB’s warranty department is great about having stuff fixed in a timely manner. But be warned, it still takes up a lot of your time and is very frustrating to pay this much money for a home and have such shoddy workmanship in so many different areas. KB will do good work but you will have to work for it by keeping a close eye on them and insisting that they do things right and fixing the things that are wrong. ... More

We had been in the new house 3 weeks and had two separate leaks in the Master shower. The gutters are not even joined at the corners. The quality of the drywall finishing is fair at best.

lacking quality of build. no interior insulation - you hear everything from the next rooms , especially from the bathrooms and kitchen. Very sloppy!! You get what you pay for.
