Nesha and Mathew were fantastic to work with, very attentive, responsive and understanding when issue arose. In fact all the people I had the opportunity to interact with have been extremely professional, friendly and attentive.

Most of the process was smooth, and they have been responsive regarding the issues found, to a point. I am disappointed in the 10 day warranty they have. There have been several issues found after being in the home for 10 days like poor workmanship on the tile, a chip in the quartz countertop, marks on the tub, etc. When you move into a new home, there are many things going on, and you tend to miss stuff until things settle down. But after 10 days they don't allow you to report certain issues. ... More

I had call in to have painters come back a few times to keep touching up and to paint where blue tape was. It was so bad that after 2-3 times I still have blue tape. I asked Anthony for paint so I could do it myself. The house was not done with all the issues the day I got my keys. I still have an issue with the driveway that is not corrected yet. I closed almost 2 months ago. I have a light switch to the kitchen that is not working. Sabrina and Anthony were great but I can’t really say anything else was great. Lights on outside garage should be standard. ... More

This was out first time owning a home that we had built from the ground up. We picked our various colors, etc. Knowing that this house was to mean a lot to us really made a difference. Now that we are in the house, we love it! Selecting, dealing and negotiating was a big impact on us. The sales individual was wonderful, very kind, generous, customer oriented and was very knowledgeable. Once those wishes were submitted and everything else falls to someone at a desk, the journey was not so pleasant. To draw the customer in was great, its the other individuals who need to work on their people skills, throughout its process. To include understanding, knowledgeable of procedures and just down right being pleasant instead of reacting as if it is their next paycheck. We hung in there, and purchased the home we are pleased, however, we wonder if others went through what we went through. ... More

I was surprised at the issues we ran into. Especially the finishes. Painting is really poor. We also had problems with plumbing and lighting. there is a switch in the loft that does not make sense and appears to be a mistake, but it will not be corrected. I continue to find issues. ... More

We wanted to love this process but there were challenges at every step of the way. The salespeople were not as knowledgeable as they should have been and did not communicate as well as they should have given that we have never built a house before. When we brought up concerns along the way we were told things would be taken care of "later" and that "later" meant after we were moved in. Overall, we are happy with the house (the frame and foundation are good) and we got everything we wanted at a reasonable price but not without loads of stress. ... More

Example of issues that should be taken care at the beginning: * door entrance could see light from outside * power in one room did not worked, * outside trim not painted correctly * garage open broken ( did any one tested) * it took 3 weeks to complete the list of the walk before closing ( if I am correct it was suppose to be completed 3 days when we got keys of the house) * we purchase a home to enjoy it not to get point out to people thing they did wrong and have to deal with fixing 3 weeks after closing) * from beginning house plans were not done as we agree . Many of the frustrations from our home purchase came from the financing of the home itself. We were voiced that we would be saving 7k off the price of our home by going through their mortgage lender, and ultimately it was a disastrous experience. I understand wholeheartedly that when selling a home and buying another, there will be many more stressors involved than our first home purchase where our main concern was just purchasing the home. However, the amount of additional (and ridiculous) documents needed, the fact that the home appraised for 15k less than the settled upon price (realistically it was 22k less as we "saved" 7k by using their lender), and the sense of lack to transparency was the most frustrating. Initially the gentleman that sold us our home had voiced we could speak to negotiating the price as well as small features to be included such as blinds and a gas range for the home. Once we decided to negotiate (and they knew we were interested) that changed very quickly to an all or nothing mentality. Ultimately we decided to go through with the purchase price with small features being added in (mainly just blinds). One the appraisal had come through and we were 15k under the asking price, a VP conferenced into the phone and was the epitome of a shady salesman. From the sale of our previous home, we were wanting to put 20% down to avoid PMI, however when the home doesn't appraise the bank won't loan you the full amount so our 20 percent turned into 17%. The gentleman voiced nothing would change to our down payment or our monthly payment so it would be a wash and they would pick up the PMI payment on our behalf as it was "important for the first model to sell high". That is an exact quote. What they failed to mention was that while our monthly and down payment wouldn't change, that 15k was going straight into their pocket and while I knew this is what was happening I wanted to see if he would come out and voice it to us, or if he would hope we didn't have the understanding to see what was going on. Because we did we were going to walk on the property and days later the builder's rep did call us to apologize for the interaction and stated they would meet us halfway. Considering the sales of our home would cause more stress, we decided to go through with it. The mortgage company asked for document after document that we never would have needed through our old lender, and the most frustrating part was having 5 people reaching out to us for documents and then asking the account manager questions about the docs, and them not having any idea who or why they were asking. Lastly, upon the closing documents of our home were to be signed, we signed them based on the agreement we made with the re-negotiated price point and once we went to pick up keys for our home, that closing costs were changed again so we were asked to sign documents once again prior to receiving keys. This led to another few phone calls for that to be resolved. Please remember for the folks reading this review and considering to purchase a new built home, most closing costs go right into the builders pocket (that's why they can waive so much up front) and they are the HOA. This The home itself is really nice and the only issue I have with the quality of work is the paint being so cheaply done. Other than that it is the normal settling issues that are to be expected with a new-build home. ... More

There is a definate lack of quality control during the handover to the owner. It is clear that during the build all trash, excess nails, wires, screws are just swept into the backyard and burried. The features are not well thought out do not work well with all models. Some features do NOT have professional planning involved, it seems they where options to raise the overall purchase price. Every container of paint left was open and unsealed. Many minor details that lead to a long lasting easy to maintain home are overlooked or not an option. The finance company associated with KHOV should be audited and does not follow proper protocol. The floor is very nice. Cabinets are worth the upgraded stain. The neighborhood here has a good vibe and the abjacent open desert is nice for walks. ... More

We were very disappointed with our new home. The workmanship and materials were not what we expected for the price we paid for our new K. Hovnanian Home. Some of the issues -- the paint was thin, the carpet and pad are low quality even though we paid for an upgrade; the seams on the carpet are sticking out in most of the doorways; the grout work is very poor quality; a couple of the bathroom sinks were chipped and the repair work was shoddy at best; the frames of the windows and sliding glass doors are stained with paint/sealant and were not cleaned; and the house had not been thoroughly cleaned prior to our moving in. ... Worst home buying experience I have ever had, Who cares right? the house is sold. My keys to the home were left on my kitchen Island, The sales agent did not even have the decency to deliver the home keys personally, whether she liked me or not, it is the professional thing to do. I have already had the house torn apart due to a water leak, and who knows when the cabinets will be complete. I paid $81.00 with a receipt provided to one of the customer service managers named Jeff for an electrician to come in and deal with a bad arching outlet, I Truly was afraid of a house fire, Yeah Yeah we will deal with that and reimburse due to the potentially dangerous situation and arching outlet presents. I am one consumer, one in a line of thousands and this experience made me realize just how insignificant I am. The home sold, I am no longer important to this home builder. ... More

At the beginning the buying process was normal until our salesman ( who is no longer employed ) started lying and giving us the run around. After the home was completed and during the final walk through we hired an independent inspector and he found numerous issues with the home and some were even code violations. None of these issues only a few of these items have been addressed but none of the code violations have. At this point I have been advised to contact the Registers of Contractors (ROC) to help us get these issues addressed and fixed. I wish that it would not have to come to this but your company’s unwillingness to fix these problems has finally reached a point that I no longer have any other avenues. ... More

We have so many issues with this home. From the beginning with windows in the wrong place to the island in the wrong place and outlets/fire alarms being buried behind drywall after move in! What a horrible experience this has been. We had our bathroom tiled 2x (7k upgrade) not up to standard still! Backsplash tiled 2x still have issues. Upgraded cabinets chipped and scratched due to not being covered. Workers coming in to fix stuff get our carpets dirty every time. Leak in master spa the first night we moved in, leaked into our downstairs on to our hardwood floors! We could go on and on and after talking to neighbors in the complex sounds like this is the norm! Unbelievable this house was $700 and this is what you have to deal with. I will NOT recommend Khov houses to anyone!!! ... More

Sales person/manager/design center need some training so they are on the same page! Quality of work sucks! Contractors maybe paid on the very low salary and maybe not license. Came on some weekends with the contractor family on site kids playing (age ranging from 6 yrs old to 15 yrs old) on my very expensive upgrade flooring....The schedule for some touch up/repair is more than the wait of doctors appointment! Wall uneven and dusty, carpet is not covered while they in and out the house for some electrical issues, making holes on several spot on the wall for electrical access. Those holes they make still visible because of the texture is not the same. Right now still having issues with the cabinets and parts maybe available next month. ... More
