Still waiting for exterior trim over window to be painted. Bathroom Floor was promised to be replaced. Instead it was patched Working with corporate on a closing was terrible. As a Broker for 40 years it was stunning how inept Century Corporate could be. Fortunately, One of the sales staff was very professional ,helpful and a pleasure to work with. All worked out despite the B.S. Now that there self created obstacles are behind us, all is good ... More

The craftsmanship is very suspect. I have a lot of concerns with the quality of the house going forward. Nothing in the house is square or level but I will say they have been responsive in fixing issues as my wife.

Cabinet in kitchen still crooked after multiple attempts to fix. Solar was a major pain to get working. They installed the wires backward and didn't realize it until months later. Still waiting for driveway to be fixed. No communication when it will be fixed. The irrigation system is super complicated. Most of the homes in the in the Century Community have brown lawns. ... Prior to buying our first brand new home we have never heard of Century Communities. We did our research and did a lot of looking at their competitors. In the end we chose Century based on the price, location and what we found in our research as they seemed to be a good builder. It started off well but then became very stressful about 3 months into the building process. Let me start with the good: 1. Sales and loan team were great and had zero issues with anyone! 2. Working with the Design Center was a great experience. Lots of options to really customize your house and make it your own. Have to say though some of the options are way overpriced and I was able to install myself for a fraction of the cost. 3. Customer service representative for warranty issues has been great and very responsive to our requests. Our requests have not been major as of yet but our rep has been on the issues and has taken care of them in a timely manner, very happy with him. 4. We love the house for the most part and price was right for the area. I would say architecturally the elevations are lacking but the floor plan made up for this as it had everything we were looking for. Nice open floor plan, lots of storage, and a huge master closet. Now the bad: 1. Superintendent is worthless. Will tell you if you need anything just to contact him, well if you do ask it for something he will ignore you, say no or just forget. Not exactly sure what he does when he "walks" the houses but I can tell you I was doing his job finding all kinds of issues during all stages of the construction. I won't even get started on the mold issue we had on most of the drywall that was installed. Make sure to visit during construction and all your options and additions are being done correctly! 2. During the process and the issues we had we just felt like a number to Century and that they just wanted us to go away. No apologizes for anyone on the issues, some of which were major we had during the building process. Again we just did not feel important they just wanted our money and to close on the house. 3. Lack of communication, we were told our closing date would in July. This changed to June and no one informed us until I asked if we were still on schedule for July, at this time we were informed it would be June a full month earlier than we were told. 4. Attention to detail is lacking! Some of our walkthrough issues were taken care mostly and other just patched over instead of being done correctly. Workmanship overall is not very good at all! 5. The day we received our keys we had to pick them up from the superintendent and not the sales office or anyone else from Century. Again we just felt like a number and it was no big deal because they need the house closed by the end of the fiscal year. Customer service in many areas is seriously lacking! At least attempt to make your customers feel appreciated after they just spent a lot of money on your product! 6. We had a couple of water leaks in the landscape irrigation but was told just adjust the watering clock and it will go away. Ok this is not my first house and I am handy around the house, I know when there is something wrong! I brought the issue up a couple of times with the same response. So I took it into my own hands and dug up the areas where the water was ponding.......well what did I find, two water leaks in the irrigation system! After I took pictures and put in a request the leaks were fixed within a day! Point is do not make your customers feel like they are wrong and at least look into the issue instead of giving a "solution" without investigating. 7. Make sure you know what options you added, whether structural or electrical! I cannot tell you how many times we had to remind the superintendent that things were missing or wrong! Would I recommend Century to friends or other people? Jury is still out on that one but based on what we went through and what seems like a lack of appreciation and customer service I would have to say NO at this time. I am just glad that I know what to look out for during the building process or we would not have received the keys to the house with our options we purchased. ... More

The sales staff are excellent at providing information and facilitating the loan process once a home is reserved. The construction crews cut corners, used lower quality materials, and had to replace broken or incorrect parts in the house throughout the building process. We bought this home because of the Floorplan and Location and the Elevations. But, did not fo research on Century it self. This a over 4k home that has the qualities of a much lower price point home..need to put in alot of upgrades to bring up to a 400k standard such as lever door handles. It really basic stuff. That they went super cheap on. Please turn on the water in hall bathroom before buying. You can hear what sounds like a jet coming from the pipes..super embarrassing when company use that bath as the whole house can hear. Also no showers after 10pm it can be heard in the Master bathroom with the door closed across the house..very poor insulation. True we bought a spec home. We just expected higher quality.......apparently higher cost doesn't always mean higher quality. ... More

I don't want to call people out by name, so I'll keep this general. The woman in the sales office defaulted to "no" for most requests, and then would swoop in at the 11th hour with a "yes" - almost as if trying to position herself as the hero. She caused unnecessary worry and chaos for me, and was outwardly hostile to my real estate agent. I don't trust that we always got the truth from her. Our customer relationship manager was also hostile towards my agent. She has been slow to respond to service requests, late to appointments, incredibly rude at times, and then contacted me on multiple occasions to request that I complete a survey on her performance - and that she needed all 10s. No way would I give her 10s, but I also need her for the next year of my warranty, so I'm not going to rank her honestly and then deal with her attitude for the next year. I simply didn't do the survey. The process is broken. On the upside, Aaron, the site construction manager, is fantastic. He is friendly, responsive, honest, kind, and genuine. I like the house and the community. ... More

Sales team was great. Quality of materials and warranty team are not so great. I have had about ten issues since I moved in three months ago and half of them are still not fixed after multiple trips out. Things we asked them to fix were missed between final walkthrough and closing. Shortcuts taken like missed caulking. Random maintenance people coming out for issues not related to my house. Very frustrating experience from the time I closed until now, and hate having to spend so much extra time micromanaging the maintenance team. ... More
